Stoneridge Shopping Center | 1 Stoneridge Mall Rd, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
Alfred Taubman, who also constructed Eastridge Mall in San Jose, Hilltop Mall in Richmond, and Sunvalley Mall in Concord, was responsible for the mall’s construction. Macy’s, Emporium-Capwell, and JCPenney were the original anchor tenants.
Emporium-Capwell shed the double-barrelled moniker and became simply Emporium in 1990, the same year Nordstrom established a store. Six years later, the parent company of Macy’s purchased Emporium and decided to preserve both facilities; the original Macy’s store was utilized for women’s departments, while the men’s and home furnishings departments were moved to the former Emporium store. A Sears store was also constructed and opened in 1996.

Tehan Falls | California 94588, United States
Tehan Falls snoozed during the early dry winter, but following a series of showers in late February and early March, it sprung into life. Deep in the midst of a steep canyon off-limits to the public, water cascaded down a 60-foot drop over a fern- and moss-covered rock face.
Tehan Falls, like most of the East Bay’s and Bay Area’s few waterfalls, roars to life for days or weeks after heavy rains, then withers like wildflowers as summer approaches.

The original structure was preserved and repaired over time, including substantial renovations in 1922, and was in continuous use until just before WWII.
